God damn it, Tumblr.

I miss you.  One day soon, when internet is available, we shall live and play together once again.  It will be a glorious day.

got sorted into Slytherin. Pretty surprised.

Well, now we know if we both went to Hogwarts we’d be in the same house!

There was an episode, one of my favorite moments in Star Trek, when Captain Kirk looks over the cosmos and says, ‘Somewhere out there someone is saying the three most beautiful words in any language.’ Of course you heart sinks and you think it’s going to be, ‘I love you’ or whatever. He says, ‘Please help me.’ What a philosophically fantastic idea, that vulnerability and need is a beautiful thing.

This is so sad

Girls want to look like the models they see in magazines. But the models don’t even look like what we’re made to believe.

does this post utterly terrify anyone else?

well I’m terrified. these kind of posts just kill me

Jennifer Lawrence and first impressions:

  • Woody Harrelson: I was on my bus, and on my bus I have a yoga swing. Jennifer comes on, and she goes, 'Hi, Woody, I'm J—is that a sex swing?' Her first sentence to me.
  • Josh Hutcherson: When I got cast, she called me up for one of those five-minute 'Excited to work with you, blah, blah, blah' things. The conversation started with her saying, 'Think about a catheter going in – ouch!' and then turns into a 45-minute rant about zombies and the apocalypse.
  • Zoë Kravitz: I'd met her a few times, and she was like, 'You should come over and we'll hang out.' So I go over to her apartment, and she opens the door in a towel. She's like, 'Come in, sorry, you're early, I was about to shower.' And she drops her towel and gets in the shower, and starts shaving her legs, totally naked. She was like, 'Are we here yet? Is this OK?' And I was like, 'I guess we're there!'

Ugh, it’s stuff like this that pisses me off. Did Phantomile even read the book? To call it one of the worst pieces of literature ever is absolutely ridiculous. I mean, sure, everyone has their own opinions but this book was fucking fantastic.

I’ve literally never read a book that was so honest without fear of either being too blunt, or of the main character being too unlikeable. It was like you were actually reading someone’s true inner thoughts. There was no PC filter; there was no sugar-coating. It was the nitty-gritty of the human experience.

And does it give away the ending on the cover? Yes. But that’s because finding the belly button isn’t the actual point of the book. Do people get mad at Into The Wild just because you know that the character dies from the very beginning? No. Because the character’s survival is not what’s important, it’s the journey that matters. And the same goes for this book. It’s not so much about finding the belly button as it is about what the main character finds out about HIMSELF while searching for it. It’s ridiculous that I even need to explain it because all great literature is about the journey rather than the ending point.

And furthermore there was tons of character development, it just wasn’t completely in your face like, say, in Hamlet. This form of character development was very, very subtle but still palpable. You just can’t sit there waiting for the character to make a 180. Because he won’t. And that’s part of what makes him so human.

I just wish people would take the time to actually try and understand some books before judging them at face value. This is a great book (albeit kind of an easy read, that’s only because the tone is so straight-forward and conversational) and I suggest that you all purchase it or at least check it out from a local library. It will change your perspective on everything just as long as you read it with an open mind.
